Um... What Was That, Sal?
This week has been a fun time, trying on different tops, dresses and lipsticks, getting my hair done and drinking heaps of water. About my hair: I found a lady who was doing a test-period with a salon, so she's already had her training but was looking for hair models. Since she wasn't an actual employee quite yet, she wasn't charging! I got a massage chair as she was washing my hair, an awesome cut (if not the best I've ever had; so thorough!), and a crazy extensive styling session. Not to mention she was such a sweetie. Score!
I documented my different "looks" because I had my new headshots taken yesterday. I was so nervous, as this photographer mostly worked with charities and newspapers, so he doesn't have a portfolio of headshots.... It was a real gamble, but he came with exultant recommendations by Carol, and I believe we collaboratively had some really good shots. Will keep you updated.
Just for the record, the three final shots above were taken by the generous Matthew Pauley, who agreed to document my super-straight/silky hair with a camera that's better than my iPhone4. Hehehe. His editing skills are whack (in a good way). Thank you, Matt!
Thank God that's Over
Now we can get to the good stuff. I was expecting a package from home, so you can imagine my excitement when seeing this:

| The Handwriting Doesn't Look Familiar :/ |
Turns out it was my dodgeballs for my first refereeing session this weekend! I had a very interesting time, and this job was a breeze. Sure, your organisation has to be on the ball (oh how funny, haha), but it's definitely worthwhile. We had two sets of stag parties this weekend. It was great, because they had coordinating outfits to commemorate the stag in question.
The first group had printed out special t-shirts for the event, and the poor stag had to wear shiny black plastic...

The second group, however, went all out in their wresting-inspired getups. Their enthusiasm for the game matched their crazy outfits, and they were drop-kicking the balls, calling each other liars, going absolutely bonkers! They finished their session early, because they tired themselves out (I also heard they only left the clubs at 7am this morning...)

The Total Eclipse of the Sun
We were meant to have a solar eclipse on Friday, so I met up with James and Matt (and plenty of others) at the Cardiff Museum to see what it was all about. We really couldn't tell when the apex of the eclipse was, as the light didn't change much, although there was a cool quality in the air. James decided that doubling up the lenses on his sunglasses would do the trick, and indeed, you could see the outline of the moon against the sun. Just don't stare too long, kids!
Sweet Cafe
The cafe/bakery is doing really well, so they're extending their hours. I agreed to do longer days last night, so of course I had a nightmare about waking up at 8:30am for my 9am shift. Needless to say, I was up at 6 today, so all is well in the world.
Until next week.
(Super) Salbopper.
