Homeward Bound!

EVERY COUNTRY EVER

If you've been following my social media like a good friend/family member/stalker, you'll find that I've been in quite a few countries over the past week. We began in the States, where I said goodbye to my younger life, traveled through Amsterdam to arrive in London, and of course I just had to go to Merthyr Tydfil (suburb of Cardiff) the next day for a concert!

Life is completely exhausting if you want it to be. Otherwise, just learn how to sleep on public transport! Being back in Wales was absolutely exhilarating. Performing with friends from RWCMD, I got an unsurmountable rush singing some of my favorite repertoire with my favorite MT singers. Watching my friends belt out tunes to the extravagant accompaniment of David George Harrington was beyond mesmerizing. Plus, I got to catch up with the gang and be 110% goofy.

Right Where We Belong

Being the inordinately outstanding friend that he is, Coran drove me to Cardiff so I could revisit my old haunts. Passing by Sweet cafe was one of the most exciting moments of my life. Well, perhaps week, hehe.... But my head was swimming in delight as we passed, and for some reason I got extremely nervous going through those doors again. I guess I was afraid of seeing the change, of being the change. But gosh, the delicious cakes have not changed. They are just as delectable as before! And my friendships with the staff are unchanged. Mike and I managed to exchange basic phrases in five different languages throughout my stay (English, Welsh, French, Japanese, and Spanish of course)!

COFFEE SUGAR FRIENDS
I forgot to mention that James joined us, as seen above ^^^^. He was his doleful self as usual but it seems he's gotten used to my puppy dog antics. Being the wonderful friend and pianist that he is, he agreed to look at some music for me a week ago so that my one day in Cardiff could be spent practicing with him. It's sort of our thing, I guess. Here's an outtake from our session!

YAY! I finally figured out how to upload an HD quality video from my phone.

After spending an evening back at Carol's in Cardiff (ex-landlady extraordinaire and mum #3), I'm now back in London and rode Bathsheba (my bike) today! It was great to get back on the road and have a refreshed look at how dangerous it is. Don't worry, Mom and Dad, I've got my helmet secured, light reflecting gloves, my flashing lights, and a scream as loud as an ambulance siren.

Um. What am I doing, I've got to be up for an audition tomorrow! See ya'll later. And remember, there's no place like home, wherever the fajitas that is.
