Post Show Blues and Rainbows
That's a Wrap!
After completing four performances in three days, the RWCMD musical theatre students sat in The Antelope, drinking bottles of Prosseco and Rosé, the first drops of alcohol for many of us this term. The majority was in an excitable state, so it was odd to have Sal sitting there, all ears and no words, soaking in the company and trying to process the events of the week.
It all happened with clarity and punch (as they say, in a flash)! We began with a nerve-wracking, muscle-tensing "Open Dress Run" on Monday afternoon, and a performance for Industry Professionals Monday night...
The third performance was open to the public; my Improvisation teacher @Anita Reynolds came to watch (I mentioned her a very long time ago, circa March 2014). She complimented not only my song and speech, but also the attendance and love I showed others as they performed. @Tom Sankey, a graduate from last year, gave me one of my favourite compliments yet, calling me a "dominatrix" in my Evita performance. He also said I had "legs for days". I'll take it!
I told everyone that Ex-Flatmate Tommy was in the audience... but he wasn't. He got his days confused and missed the performance! He said he'd buy me a burrito in reparations. And thus, I quote my favourite Farmer (Hoggett), "That'll do, Pig. That'll do."

Coran and I got a random tweet about our performance! I promise we're by no means "the best" among the group; James (our director) says that he's had an abundance of responses from audience members, and all 12 of us have been someone's "favourite". Just proves how diverse our styles are, and how diverse our audiences are! Go @MAMT14!
Not All Glitz and Glam
Regardless of all the attention, Sal's your same old Gal. I've donned my gortex sneakers to guard against the rain. This week, Coran helped me to wipe mud off my face that flicked up from cycling in mud and wet leaves. And I now have photographic evidence of how poorly my backpack fares in this weather.

Oh Yeah, The Title
Post Show Blues was such an odd thing this time around. After the crazy schedule we had for three days straight, finally having free time was an absurd feeling. The aimlessness triggered my indecision and lethargy. My London accommodation fell through, so I ended up returning to Cardiff prematurely and spent the travel time in greatly-needed reverie. My indecision continued whilst in Cardiff. Should I take money out and get a cab home (but would it be worth it in rush hour traffic)? Should I look up bus timetables and break my tenner (aka £10 note)?
...
Or I could just walk.
Bearing the load of my stuffed backpack and shoulder bag, I began the 2.5 mile trek home. Dusk was approaching, the air was tepid, and I was ready to take the "road less travelled".
Absolute Satisfaction.
