This Little Piggy Didn’t Stay Home

Accidentally ate Bacon today. #pigtroubles

I ate this. Delicious. #almondmilk #cucumberwater

London speeds away as I speed ahead on my train towards Northampton. I cannot believe this is happening! Me, having my first three-month performance contract three months after moving to London, near impossible. But c’est possible! It is happening!

Tom found me an abandoned (untouched) dessert at Costa. New Best Friend.
This contract is really special to me as well. I’ve always been eager to do a cruise. Firstly, because I’ve never been on a cruise before (unless you count the Pohanka Christmas party, which cruised around DC for 2 hours); secondly, because I don’t have to worry about rent and food when working (they provide accommodation, three hot meals and 24 hour salad bar on board… food is a BIG deal for me); and thirdly, because I want to see the world! Sure, Stockholm and Helsinki aren’t “the world”, but they are intriguing to say the least. I can’t wait to meet my Nordic boyfriend! He’ll be an engineer on the ship who just so happens to know of Jason Robert Brown. It can happen.

Anything can happen, as I’ve learned from life.

This past week has been nothing short of a party. I took the week off work (aside from one dodgeball session), so that I could pack, focus, and see plenty of shows! It’s been a pretty happy week seeing...

In the Heights (King’s Cross Theatre)

Sunset Boulevard (Blackwell Theatre)

Memphis (Shaftesbury Theatre)

A Little Night Music (Ye Olde Rose and Crown Theatre)

Antics Galore from the Memphis Conductor.
Not to mention, I met up with plenty of friends before my departure. Even though we both moved to London around the same time, Jo and I waited until my final night in order to get together. We’ve already organized a dinner at hers for when I return, and we need a proper pissup, as she’d probably say, haha J

Trust he likes this photo the least, but it's a real smile. YAY
James came up to London for an audition Friday so we spent the evening together doing what we love best:  eating Indian food and ice cream. I believe he is one of those friends that needs no nurturing; our relationship is as constant as life. I am excited to say that both of us are employed this coming winter! As I head off for a cruise, he boasts about a panto he’ll be conducting/keyboarding in the Isle of Man. How wonderful it is for us to be progressing in our respective fields! Moreover, he bought himself a new pair of sneakers. Go James!

I had a sneaky little chat with Emma, who is busy playing Curly’s Wife in Of Mice and Men and is going to be in a panto this Christmas as well. Life is good. I believe we have a duologue to learn for when I return, Em!

And of course, Jules. She and I went to see In the Heights on Monday and thoroughly enjoyed our last evening together... the last evening we'll have all year! How weird is that?! It is dawning on us that her visa expires next year, so we must brainstorm ways for her to stay. Smarty that she is, she wants to find a job that she enjoys that will sponsor her next visa. Can it happen?

C’est possible! Anything is possible.

With my Nordic boyfriend and Jules’ unparalleled skills, us Aussies will take over London discreetly but effectively. I hear Sydney’s a nice place, but my desire to return ebbs away with each day. It truly isn’t about where you are; life is about enjoyment, about lapping up opportunities and exploration.
It is about Terra Incognita!

And with that, my train is nearing my destination. I trust I’ve given you enough positivity to last until next week.

Sally
