Three Strikes and....
Hi Friends and Family,
Just a word of thanks. Thanks for reading:)
It's becoming increasingly unimportant to write the blog. The past few weeks, I've thought, "gosh, I could just use some sleep", and today I thought, "what use is writing a blog, when I could write a friend and get some input back?"
Well, I also remember a time when I said that this blog would continue on indefinitely. As long as I kept discovering terra incognita, the impetus for this blog would remain. I am a woman of my word, and nothing dies hard like an old habit. Actually, this is a relatively new habit, but I won't let it die. I won't let it.
Two days ago, I had a customer in the restaurant who wanted to reserve a table for dinner. After a lengthy discussion, I found out that this man and his wife were celebrating their 28th Anniversary.
"I don't know how we've done it. It was really hard."
To my family members who have struggled in marriage, I know you'd agree that a lifelong relationship is difficult in itself. However, this man was diagnosed with cancer the year after his marriage; after his recovery, they went a decade without being able to have any children, and after multiple IVF treatments, parented three girls in close succession to one another.
He said that he was in complete disbelief as to how they'd come to a clearing, well-loved and loving, and I admire that dedication wholeheartedly. Another couple was celebrating their 5th anniversary that evening, and by chance, I was able to introduce them to the older couple and felt like there was some sort of beautiful karma about the place. It was a great night.
Between auditions and shifts at work, I became addled in the brain. I kept my job even though I completely forgot about a mandatory training session (someone else got sacked for missing it :/ ) My newly appointed boss said he was keeping me on because he liked me. I have a feeling I like him too. He doesn't put up with BS and he's going to implement these training sessions so we know more about the wine/cocktails/food items we're selling. Wine tasting is on Thursday. Can't wait!

MT Madness (MT being Musical Theatre)
This week, I attended three different auditions for some big productions/resorts. It was an absolutely hectic time, gathering my shoes/outfits/makeup for auditions alongside my dodgeballs/paperwork for my evening job. To be honest, I felt as though the week was descending upon me in a rapid blow. I resorted to naps whenever possible; on the underground, in the park, in intermission...
I went to see War Horse and I highly recommend it. I mean, everyone does, so I just had to see it. The tears were freely flowing in the second act. My gosh. I know the cast was probably underenergised at points, and some of the diction could've used variety in tone, but I was sold. Plus I was heaps tired and felt ill and it was just so damn beautiful. See it.
Regardless of how I was feeling, I had a lot of fun this past week.

I just wanted to share my little spot around the corner from the restaurant. I've since come here twice (when working double shifts), to take a nap on my hour break. I worry that winter is coming and it won't be suitable for naps, but I will come equipped with my ski jacket if the weather dictates.

OLD vs NEW
Some things I keep in my possession for as long as possible, like my nudie jeans that had a huge hole in them until I patched them up, or my navy polo shirt from high school which now works well as my work uniform. However, some of my old things needed a bit of a replacement. Here I have my old backpack and temporary water bottle, being replaced by Dave-picked merchandise and I'm going to be so hydrated and jade green from here on out. YAY
Don't mind the mess, all. I've literally spent more time out and about this week then I did at home. It was a miracle that I didn't catch cold (knock on wood).
Again, appreciation for you, the readers. I hope your week starts off smashingly and we have a chance to meet up soon!
Oh, and I might just be planning a Sydney/Canberra/China trip. Stay tuned.
