It's Raining Cats and Dogs
The Dogged Return
You've read it before and you're reading it again. Sal's officially back on a dating app. After my impatient attempts at Plenty of Fish, Bumble and Coffee Meets Bagel, I've finally settled on the most debated app of them all: Tinder.
Now I realize my experiences shouldn't be shared here (for the sake of the privacy of strangers), but if you want any news or advice in your dating lives, drop me a text. Not only am I a budding dog-whisperer, I am highly proficient in text speak and can help out.
Pooped. In Every Sense of the Word.
This past Friday, I had to juggle three different dogs and two cats into my day, six visits in total with cycle rides between them all. So you can imagine my exhaustion when I finally curled into bed - the bed from which I was housesitting - and fell asleep.
Lo and behold, the little kitties wanted their breakfast at half six. My life was turned upside down for a morning and then it clicked; I truly enjoy this quasi-family lifestyle. I'd ensure Jackson got plenty of playtime with the puppies in the park and the kitties' litters were scooped clean. We'd all eat together, and the cats decided my water cup was more appealing than any water bowl they owned. I came away from Day 1 with the sense that I'd ingested more dander than your average Londonian, but also a sense of being in the best company to watch The Muppet Movie in my onesie on a Saturday night.

Ease on Down the Esophagus
Being an MT actress who just wants to work work work (even if it's rehearsing and learning new rep on my own), I am happy to report that I had an amazing workshop this past week, followed by a really fun audition. The workshop pianist, Musical Director Inga Davis-Rutter, said to me what I have rarely heard in my career: she told me what she believed my strengths, and what's interesting is that I actually agreed with her. From working with a plethora of MDs, vocal coaches and rep coaches in the past, I have grown to accept that others will see different qualities in me than I'd imagine, so when someone appreciates in you what you do in yourself, it's like mixing peanut butter and chocolate together: divine.

I saw Aussie friend, Bek this Saturday (Fiddler on the Roof/The Wiz; 2012/2013, Artes Christi)! We had a great time doing some secret shopping (she was my accomplice) and finding a local diner that served some key dishes like blueberry pancakes and chips with gravy. We had such a laugh, talking about the British people and how they're just generally not as open or lighthearted as us Australians. Even Bek recounted a story where a guy explained to her that she shouldn't feel excluded if no one reaches out to her, as it's just the British character. The guy in question proceeded to not be that inviting. It is what it is I guess :P
Well, we agreed to hang out much more that she's moved to London and to see some shows together! First off the list: Bend it Like Beckham. I'd never, ever go out of my way to see it but Bek thinks it'll be a laugh, and I have a feeling that I'll be laughing, simply in the company I keep.
